Bhopal: Amid a political upheaval in Madhya Pradesh, Assembly Speaker Narmada Prasad Prajapati late Thursday accepted the resignations of 16 rebel Congress lawmakers. Mr Prajapati himself announced his decision to media late night.

It is to be noted that The Supreme Court on Thursday ruled that the session of the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly which has been deferred to 26 March 2020 shall be reconvened tomorrow for a floor test of the Kamal Nath government which is said to have lost its majority in the 230-member Assembly after the rebellion of Gwalior royal Jyotiraditya Scindia.

The decision of MP Speaker came few hours after the apex court verdict. Earlier he has accepted the resignation of 6 MLA's who were also the cabinet ministers and a very close aide to Scindia. This is being considered as a capitulation before the floor test as Congress lags far behind in the number game after this move.
