COVID-19 cases in India cross 14000-mark with 480 deaths, 1,991 recoveries

New Delhi:The novel coronavirus cases in India crossed the 14,000-mark on Saturday morning with the total number of cases now standing at 14,378, according to the Union Health Ministry update.
With 43 fresh casualties in the past 24 hrs, the total number of deaths pertaining to the pandemic have risen to 480, with maximum deaths reported in Maharashtra so far.
 
The total number of active cases in the country stands at 11,906 with  705 new cases all across the nation in the past 24 hrs, Ministry of Health and Welfare reported. There is a little increase in the number of cured cases, and the figure now stands at 1,991, it added. 
 
Cases in the worst COVID hit-state in the country that is Maharashtra, have again spiked with the number now resting at 3,323 with 201 casualties followed by the national capital where the cases spiked to 1,707 and 42 casualties.
 
With a rapid spike in the number of cases in the past two days time Madhya Pradesh now houses 1,310 positive cases with 69 deaths.
 
Gujarat has also seen a rapid rise in the number of cases in the past two days which now houses 1,099 cases with 41 deaths so far.Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan have also witnessed a spike in cases with figures now standing at 1,323 and 1,229 respectively.
 
The number of cases has increased at a fast pace in Maharashtra, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat in the past two days.(UNI)
