CS assault case: Judicial remand of two AAP lawmakers extended by 14 more days

New Delhi: A Tis Hazari court on Thursday extended the judicial remand of AAP lawmakers Amanatullah Khan and Prakash Jarwal by 14 more days in the sensational case of assault on Delhi Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash. Amanatullah Khan is an MLA from Okhla, while Prakash Jarwal from Deoli constituency.Earlier also, they were sent to judicial remand. 

On expiry of judicial custody, the court of Metropolitan Magistrate Shefali Barnala Tandon extended their judicial remand till 22nd March.The Delhi Chief Secretary had complained that he has been assaulted on February 19 night at the residence of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Delhi police then registered a case under various sections. 

Both the legislators had earlier been remanded to one day custody and later it had been extended by 14 more days.Jarwal appealed in a higher court against rejection of bail plea by the Magistrate.He had subsequently moved the High Court and presently the plea is before Supreme Court. Jarwal was held on February 20 and Amanatullah Khan the following day.(UNI)
