Daily Spike of nCOV cases greater than recovered patients in past 24 hours

New Delhi:India recorded 45,892 new cases of Coronavirus during the past 24 hours, with the total number of those infected touching 30,709,557, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Thursday.
The death toll from the disease has reached 4,05,028, with 817 new fatalities being recorded over the past day.
 
More than 29.84 million people have recovered in India since the outbreak of the pandemic.
A day earlier, the country confirmed 43,733 fresh cases, with 930 fatalities.
 
Also, 18,93,800 COVID-19 tests were conducted in the country on Wednesday, taking the total number of such examinations so far to 42,52,25,897, while the daily positivity rate was recorded at 2.42 per cent. It has been less than three per cent for 17 consecutive days, the Ministry said.
 
The total number of vaccine doses administered so far has reached 36,48,47,549 under the nationwide vaccination drive with 33,81,671 people being inoculated in the past 24 hours.
 
India comes second in terms of the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases, following the United States with more than 33.77 million patients.
 
The World Health Organization declared the COVID-19 outbreak a pandemic on March 11, 2020. Till date, more than 185.02 million people have been infected with the coronavirus worldwide, with over 4 million fatalities, according to Johns Hopkins University.(UNI)
