Delhi riots accused Tahir Hussain's corporatorship cancelled

New Delhi: An accused in the North East Delhi riots, AAP's suspended  Municipal Councillor Tahir Hussain's membership has been  cancelled by the East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC), and he is no-more a councillor.The proposal to terminate Hussain's membership to the house was passed on Wednesday unanimously.
This proposal was part of the monthly agenda of the EDMC House, according to the which Hussain did not attend the last three meetings, due to which his membership was cancelled.
Hussain is an accused in IB official Ankit Sharma's killing, and right now is in jail.
 
In a statement released by the EDMC said that the decision has been taken with regard to cancellation of Thair Hussain's membership on August 26, however, in the overall process of terminating his membership the house has no where mentioned regarding the Delhi riots.
The information regarding cancellation of his membership has been given to Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal.
 
Council's Mayor Nirmal Jain said that Hussain was absent in the council meetings since January. During this time, January, February, June, July including the month of August, a total of five meetings have already been held and Hussain was not present in any of them.(UNI)
