Drone dropping in J&K's Samba district, Cash & explosives recovered

Jammu: Security forces on Thursday launched a search operation after drone dropping was reported close to an international border in Ramgarh sector of Samba district in Jammu and Kashmir.

"Drone dropping is reported in Ramgarh sector and a packet of consignment has been seized," a senior police officer confirmed.

He added that during search, a packet was recovered which contained two pistols, four magazines, 60 rounds, Indian currency (approximately Rs 5 lakh), two batteries, a detonator and two improvised explosive devices.

Notably, on Tuesday, BSF troops neutralised one Pakistani intruder and nabbed another in Jammu and Samba belts. Detained Pakistani national was repatriated on Wednesday.
Meanwhile searches were already being carried out along the border belts.

Journos Threat case : Searches underway at three locations in Valley

Srinagar:Jammu and Kashmir Police is carrying out searches at three locations in the Valley in connection with a case related to online threat to journalists.Police said the searches were being conducted in Srinagar, Budgam and Pulwama districts.

The searches are being conducted subsequent to the leads received from searches carried out a few days ago in the case, police said.“Searches are going on in multiple locations in Srinagar, Badgam and Pulwama districts in connection with 'online journalists threat' case. This is subsequent to the leads received from searches done few days ago in same case,” Srinagar police said in a tweet.

The searches are being carried in a case registered in Police Station Sherghari Srinagar against Lashkar-e-Taiba and its offshoot “ The Resistance Front” for online publication and dissemination of direct threat letters to journalists and reporters based in Kashmir.

5 Kashmiri journalists had resigned after these threats.On Saturday last, Police had carried out searches at 12 locations in Kashmir, including the premises of several scribes, in connection with the alleged threat issued by the militants to the Journalists.(UNI)
