Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad police have solved a murder case wherein the headless body of a man was found near Berua bridge in Rampur district on September 11.
The police have arrested three accused, including a woman and her brother.
Additional SP, Moradabad, Subash Chandra Gangwar said the accused were identified as Mehnaz, 19, her elder brother Mohd Saddam, 23, and his friend Rizwan Ali, 22, all residents of Saifini, Rampur.
During investigation, Saddam told the police that Sonu had met his sister at her college, and they became friends. Later, he took some pictures of his sister and started blackmailing her.
As per police, Saddam further said his sister approached him for help, and he plotted to eliminate Sonu. Mehnaz called Sonu and asked him to meet her near Bairua bridge in Saifni, where Saddam and Rizwan killed him. They then cut off the head and Mehnaz packed the severed head in a polythene bag and dumped it in the bushes near dumping ground nearly two kilometres away.
“They even removed all clothes from the body of the deceased so that his identity could not be ascertained and burnt it using petrol. They also disposed of his mobile phone, slippers and motorcycle separately,” the police added.
“The phone records revealed that Mehnaz had made the last call to Sonu, and their phones were found to be at the same location at the time,” the police said.
