After 2 years of Covid restrictions the festival of colour, Holi, is being celebrated across the country on Friday with full traditional fervor and gaiety.

Revellers were seen taking all precautions after witnessing the deadly second wave of Covid-19 just after Holi festival last year. This Holi all the Covid restrictions have been withdrawn by the government.

Children and elders sprayed colour and gulal on each other and later offered sweets and specially prepared gujiyas and papar. Wishing 'Happy Holi' people embraced each other to convey their best wishes.

In several areas people were seen playing Holi while wearing masks but several still avoided embracing each other to greet each other on the festival due to Covid fear.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished the country on the occasion of Holi. “Wishing you all a very Happy Holi. May this festival of colors, a symbol of mutual love, affection and brotherhood, bring every color of happiness in your life,” he wrote in a tweet.
