K'taka Govt withdraws order banning photography, videography in public offices

Bengaluru: Karnataka government led by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Saturday withdrew its orders banning the photography and videography by the general public in government offices.

The government had issued the ban orders after the Karnataka Government Employees Association submitted a representation in this regard.After reviewing the decision, the Chief Minister decided to order its withdrawal with immediate effect.

Meanwhile Bommai is set to lay the foundation stone for a Textiles Park and launch a slew of development works, during his visit to his constituency Shiggaon and the neighbouring Savanur Saturday.

The Chief Minister is also scheduled to lay the foundation stone for setting up of the Texport Readymade Garments unit.

The proposed park will be set up in an area spread over 59.34 acres and for the first time it would be established on the Anchor-Promoter model.Infrastructure facilities would be created in three phases for the Textiles units and Readymade Garment factories.

The government has provided Rs 25 crore for the first phase.Anchor-Promoter Texport Private Limited is investing Rs 42 crore to set up the readymade garments unit.It is expected to provide employment opportunities to about 3.000 people.(UNI)
