Guv slams attack on BJP's prez JP Nadda's convoy in West Bengal

Kolkata:West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar on Thursday expressed his concern at the "alarming reports of anarchy and lawlessness" in the state.
Taking to his twitter handle, Mr Dhankhar said, " Concerned at alarming reports of anarchy and lawlessness @MamataOfficial indicating ruling party harmads on rampage at BJP President Convoy and political police @WBPolice in support."
 
" This happening inspite of my alerts to CS & DGP early morning indicated collapse of law & order, " he added.
 
" To CS @MamataOfficial at 8.19 am to CS As discussed-Time for SP Diamond Harbour to act a public servant," the Governor said."At 8.30 am response from CS Respected Sir, alerted and sensitized DGP accordingly. Regards," Mr Dhankhar stated.
 
"Events indicate total abdication of lawful authority," he noted."Indicated to CS @MamataOfficial at 9.05 am," he said."Am sure they have immunity and protection of political police with administration extension of political outfit," he said.
 
'' Hope to have meaningful interaction so that in togetherness there is way forward in governance in consonance with constitutional parameters & rule of law so that democracy blossoms," he stated.
 
J P Nadda reached safely at the venue, Diamond Harbour of South 24 Parganas: Police
 
Kolkata:The West Bengal Police on Thursday clarified that J P Nadda, National President, BJP, reached safely at the venue, Diamond Harbour of South 24 Parganas.
 
" Nothing happened to his convoy. Few bystanders at Debipur, Falta PS, Diamond Harbour PD, sporadically and suddenly threw stones towards vehicles trailing long behind his convoy, " it tweeted.
 
'' Everyone is safe and the situation is peaceful. The matter is being investigated to find out actual happenings, " it said.
 
Difference of opinion, no reason to get violent: Dhumal over attack on Nadda in Bengal
 
Hamirpur:Senior BJP leader and former HP Chief Minister PK Dhumal on Thursday strongly denounced the attack on the convoy of national president of the party, JP Nadda in Bengal, stating that the difference in opinion should not translate into violence.
 
In a statement here, he said there should be no place for such incidents in democracy.  Prof Dhumal claimed that the party was undoubtedly strengthening its position in West Bengal and this was the reason why the members of Trinamool Congress were getting upset.(UNI)
