Here's HOW Chandrayaan-3 Rover ramped down from the Lander to the Lunar surface, ISRO shares video
, Friday, 25 August 2023 (11:47 IST)
ISRO on Friday shared a video showing how the Chandrayaan-3's Pragyan Rover ramped down from the Vikram Lander to the Lunar surface.

On August 24, ISRO announced that the rover ramped down from Vikram lander and begun exploring the moon's surface.

"Made in India, Made for the Moon, The Ch-3 Rover ramped down from the Lander and India took a walk on the moon!" ISRO Xed.

Earlier, ISRO had shared a video of moon captured by the Lander Imager Camera just prior to touchdown.

ISRO also issued images of the moon's surface taken after the landing. "Chandrayaan-3 chose a relatively flat region on the lunar surface," the organization said.

Before Chandrayaan-3 soft-landed on the Moon at 6.04 pm on August 23, the lander chose a safe and flat region on the lunar surface for the landing.

Pragyan will conduct a series of experiments around 500 meters on the Moon surface for the next 14 days and send the collected data to Vikram. It weighs 26kg and has two payloads.

One payload will analyse the chemical composition of the Moon surface, another will determine the elemental composition of the Moon soil and rocks around the landing site. (Inputs from UNI)
