Ambala/Panchkula:Honeypreet, the main accused in the Panchkula violence case and adopted daughter of Sirsa-based Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, was granted bail by the Panchkula CBI court on Wednesday.
Honeypreet alias Priyanka Taneja, who was lodged in the Ambala Central jail, was produced in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Rohit Vats through video conferencing.
She was convicted in the case of riots and violence at Panchkula following the conviction of Dera Chief in rape cases on August, 2017. A case of sedition was framed against her alongwith other Dera followers. Since Section 121 and 121A were withdrawn against them, she was granted bail with others on Wednesday.
On receiving the orders in the Central Jail, Honeypreet was released at around 1800 hrs in the evening. She left the jail in one of the luxury car convoy and did not talk to the media.
It is learnt that she had left for Bhatinda.(UNI)
