Hyderabad: Junior artist forces minor foster-daughter into prostitution; beat her with stick and burnt her skin with hot metal on refusal

Hyderabad: The sleuths of Commissioner’s Task Force, West Zone Team here have rescued a minor girl and apprehended the accused Junior artist who was forcing her minor foster-daughter into prostitution, a police release said here on Saturday.
 
The 38-year-old Junior artist in the film industry P.Laxmi has started a brothel house at her residence in Jubilee hills here along with other women after her income earning from cinema roles was insufficient to meet her expenses.
 
The minor girl was raised by the accused since her infancy and considered the accused as her own mother, the release said.
 
The accused, taking advantage of the minor girl, emotionally blackmailed her to take part in prostitution for the last two years.
 
On her refusal, the accused physically tortured her by beating her with a stick and burning her skin with hot metal.
 
She forcibly made her dropout from school and went to the extent of chopping off her hair as well.
 
On a tip-off, the Task Force raided the residence of the accused where the prostitution was taking place and rescued the minor girl.
 
Necessary legal action is being taken against the accused and her associates, the release added.
