Indian Embassy in UAE working for repatriating bodies of 2 Indians killed in Houthi drone attack

Abu Dhabi: The Indian Embassy in UAE on Tuesday said they have established the identities of the two Indians killed in the tanker explosion in Mussaffah caused by a Houthi drone attack, and that they are working with the UAE authorities for early repatriation of the bodies.

In tweets, the Indian Embassy also said that two Indians were among the six persons who were injured in the incident on Monday. They have been discharged after treatment, it posted.

It thanked the UAE government, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation-UAE, and the Adnoc (Abu Dhabi National Oil Corporation) group for their support.

“*17 January incident UPDATE* Identities of 2 deceased Indian nationals established.@IndembAbuDhabi officials are in touch with their family members. The Mission is working closely with UAE authorities, including ADNOC, for early repatriation of mortal remains.”

The tanker explosions had occurred in ICAD 3, Mussaffah, near Mohamed bin Zayed City at around 10am.

Besides the two Indians, a Pakistani national was also killed in the explosion. The Houthis have claimed responsibility for the attack. (UNI)
