Nuh like incident in Jharkhand: Female sub-inspector mowed down during vehicle checking in Ranchi

Ranchi: A female sub-inspector on night patrolling duty was allegedly mowed down by a pickup van under the Tupudana police station area of the state capital.

The incident occurred at around 3 am when the officer, Sandhya Topno, tried to stop a vehicle for checking.

Ranchi City SP Anshuman Kumar said that Sandhya Topno was on night patrolling.

In the initial investigation, it has been confirmed that the act was deliberate.

He said that police have detained the driver and the vehicle has been also seized.

The SP said they are investigating whether the detained person or vehicle was involved in any illegal act such as smuggling, and they will share details once the probe is complete. (UNI)
