Kakinada: Woman stoned to death while asleep, ornaments robbed; suspect on husband who lost money in betting for YSRCP in LS polls

Kakinada: A married woman was stoned to death while she was asleep at her residence in Fishing harbourpeta area in the city outskirts in the early hours of Sunday, police said.
 
Police said the deceased was hit on her head with a boulder. The gold jewelry on her body was also stolen.
 
The port police who registered the case identified the deceased as Oleti Sitha (25).
 
Her husband Narasimhamurthy is suspected to have been involved in the ghastly murder.
 
It is stated that he lost heavily in betting in favour of the ruling party in the elections and was quarreling with his wife for the past ten days insisting on her ornaments for selling and repayment of debts.
 
The husband was taken into custody and pending further investigation the body was shifted to a government general hospital for post-mortem, police added.
