Kakinada: A 25-year-old youth suddenly rushed into the court hall with bleeding injuries and crying for justice, claiming that neighbours attacked him with knives, and he approached the court as police would not render justice.
The magistrate immediately handed him over to the police, asking them to investigate the matter and report it to him.
However, the police, after preliminary inquiry, announced that the youth was telling lies and no one had attacked him, inferring that the injuries were self-inflicted.
The town police inspector Nageswera Naik at a hurriedly convened press conference said the youth Kunche Prabhu Teja, a resident of Recharlapeta area in the city was not telling the truth as no such incident of attack at the place mentioned by him had taken place .But he said how he received the bleeding injuries was being investigated.
However, the inspector revealed startling reports about the mysterious behaviour of the youth and how he lodged false complaints in the past.
Prabha Teja, in a similar fashion, during 2021, made self-inflicted injuries on his body and joined the hospital.
A case was registered, and after detailed investigation, the case was found to be false and closed.
Again, a few weeks later, he set fire to his thatched house and lodged a complaint. The police also dropped action in the case, as no evidence of arson was found.
Again, a few days later, Prabha Teja made a vain suicide bid by dousing himself in kerosene and immolating in front of the Collectorate, and the police have promptly registered a case.
The circle inspector further clarified that the youth had to attend court on Wednesday as an accused in a case registered in 2021 but instead appeared before the court with bleeding injuries.
"We will investigate how he received the bleeding injuries and take suitable action," he added.
