Karnataka crisis: Congress MLAs reportedly indulged in fist-fight in Resort, one ends up in hospital

Bengaluru: Ruling Congress MLAs resort stay in the city have taken an ugly turn, as one of the legislator was reportedly injured after confronted with a fellow MLA in a brawl, which took place in the wee hours on Sunday.

The injured MLA, Anand Singh, a former BJP legislator, was got admitted in a private hospital in the city and reportedly administered treatment for the injury he allegedly sustained during the scuffle.

The injured MLA from Ballari district was reportedly engaged in a verbal confrontation with the another MLA also from Ballary district, before being hurt in the brawl, a highly placed party source told UNI.

Meanwhile, the Congress Lok Sabha member, D K Suresh, who is also brother of the Water Resources minister D K Shivakumar, has denied that the Anand Singh was admitted to the hospital following a scuffle with the another Congress MLA.

“I have visited Mr Singh, who is taking rest in the hospital and the media reports of hurt in a brawl is far from truth”.

Tight security arrangements has been made near the hospital, where the Congress MLA was admitted.

Earlier Mr Shivakumar, speaking to newsmen had also denied the reports and said that “Mr Singh had gone out of the resort to attend a Marriage ceremony”.

Deputy Chief minister G Parameshwara, however expressed ignorance over the incident. “I am not aware of any incident of scuffle inside the Resort” he added.

BJP leader R Ashok claimed that during the brawl Mr Singh was stabbed in the stomach and this was the reason he was hospitalised. (UNI)
