New Delhi: Exuding confidence in the people of Karnataka, Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar on Tuesday said there is tremendous anti-incumbency against the ruling Congress in the state. “The support for Bharatiya Janta Party and for Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been immense. BS Yeddyurappa and the party is well-connected with the people. Voters are smart and sharp enough. Last minute announcements/schemes won’t work” said Mr Javadekar at a press meet adding that people are angry and unhappy with the current regime.

“Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah can’t dodge its people for long. The other core issues the state government is reeling under are corruption, unemployment, potholes, no benefits of government schemes are being given to people,” said the Minister, who is Karnataka poll in-charge.

Talking on the party’s strategy, Mr Javadekar said, “We have got a huge response in ‘Parivartan Yatra’. People want decisive change. Booth level workers are our strength where all sections of society are represented. We have 54,000 booth level committees under the programme titled ‘Navshakti Sammelan’. The party is aiming to make a 'Nav Karnataka Nirman' where poor people’s aspiration will be met through development.“BJP is a strong party which works to unite the society. We believe in people’s participation,” added Mr Javadekar. The BJP’s 79- day ‘Parivartan Yatra’ will conclude in Bengaluru on January 20.Karnataka will go for polls next year for 224 Assembly Constituencies. (UNI)
