Leopard safari park to start soon in Bengal

Kolkata: The West Bengal Government has decided to start a leopard safari at Khayerbari Leopard Rehabilitation Centre in Jaldapara National Park, over an area of 23 hectares.
It has also been decided to set up a deer park at the same place over an area of four hectares. There is a plan to set up a veterinary hospital too.
Currently, there are seven leopards and a tiger at Khayerbari. Another injured leopard has been transferred here from Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park in Darjeeling.Tourists would now be able to view these as part of a safari. The safari is expected to soon make it to the must-do lists of tourists coming to the Dooars.Also on view at Khayerbari are four species of deer and other animals as well as birds from various countries.(UNI)
