Maharashtra: 6 men attempt to perform human sacrifice for hidden treasure, arrested

Kolhapur: Police have arrested six men who were preparing to make human sacrifices, under the belief that such practices would enable them unearth hidden treasure in Kolhapur district of Maharashtra.
 
Police said a youth Sharad Dharma Kamble of Kaulav village in Radhanagari tehsil dug a three to five feet deep pit in his house and performed a 'Puja' seeking to unearth hidden treasure.
 
Kamble wanted to give human sacrifice, and called in five person to help him. But the attempt was foiled due to the alertness of village sarpanch Ramchandra Kumbhar, who informed the police immediately.
 
Police have arrested six persons in this connection.
