Maharashtra govt announces state funeral for Baba Siddique

Mumbai: Maharashtra government on Sunday announced to stage a state funeral in honour of ex-minister and Nationalist Congress Party leader Baba Siddique, who was shot dead in Mumbai on Saturday.
 
Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced and instructed officials to organise the funeral with full state honours, acknowledging Siddique’s service as a minister in the Maharashtra Cabinet from 2004 to 2008 and as chairman of the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA).
 
Baba Siddique died in hospital after being shot by three men in Mumbai's Bandra East area on Saturday night.
