Miscreants dig woman's grave, flee with ornaments worth Rs.1.5 lakh

Kalaburagi: In a shocking incident, miscreants today dug up a fresh grave of a woman and decamped with gold ornaments worth Rs.1.5 lakh in Khajoori village of Aland taluk. Police said here that the deceased Premabai Dage was buried five days ago along with a gold ring and bangles, totally weighing 50 gm.

Miscreants dug up the grave in the early hours, removed the ornaments and threw the body in a nearby bush and made good their escape. According to villagers, Premabai had no children and did not have any close relatives and hence her body was buried along with the ornaments. After necessary formalities, the body was handed over to the villagers again, police added. A search was on to trace the miscreants. (UNI)
