Chennai:In a shocking incident, a Sub-Inspector attached to the Chennai City police was arrested on Friday for sexually assaulting a minor girl at gun point.
The SI Satishkumar (37), attached to the Kasimedu police station,was arrested under the POCSO Act and under Sec 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC on a complaint from the girl's father. The girl's mother and her sister, who were having illicit affairs,with the SI, were also arrested on same charges for abetting the crime, police sources said.
The arrest came after the series of sexual exploitation by the cop was exposed by a Tamil magazine based on a version given by the 15-year-old girl's father.
Police said Sathish Kumar, who was working in Madhavaram Police Station earlier, had initially developed intimacy with the girl's mother and later also had an affair with mother's elder sister.
Sathish Kumar got attracted to the girl and tried win over her by giving her costly gifts like I-phone.
He also convinced her mother and aunt, to force the girl to agree for his sexual advances.
As the girl refused, the SI threatened her at gun point and also threatened to kill her, her father, and her brother if she revealed it to others and sexually assaulted her.
On coming to know of it, the girl's father went to the local police station to lodge a complaint, but in vain.
Then he approached a Tamil magazine which exposed the sleazy acts of the SI and the girl's mother and her sister, leading to their arrests.(UNI)
