Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL) or Atal Setu, the longest sea bridge in India on Friday.

The bridge has been named after former Prime Minister and late BJP veteran Atal Bihari Vajpayee.



Here are 8 amazing details about the Atal Setu
 
  1. Atal Setu is 21.8 km in length and have six lanes.
  2. The bridge originates from Sewri in Mumbai and ends at Nhava Sheva in Uran taluka in Raigad district.
  3. The distance of two hours from Mumbai to Navi Mumbai will now be covered in just 20 minutes.
  4. Atal Setu is the longest bridge in India and also the longest sea bridge in the country.
  5. The maximum speed limit for four-wheelers on the bridge has been fixed at 100 kmph.
  6. Motorbikes, autorickshaws and tractors are not allowed on the bridge.
  7. The bridge has been constructed at a whopping cost of Rs 18,000 crore.
  8. The steel used for the construction of the Atul Setu is 17 times that of the iconic Eiffel Tower in Paris
