Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah poll campaigns in West Bengal from next week till March-end

Kolkata: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah are expected to hold campaigns in the poll-bound states of West Bengal from next week till the end of March.
 
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address three BJP rallies to boost the electoral prospects for the party candidates at Purulia, East Medinipur and Bankura on March 18,19 and 21.
 
While Mr Modi, the BJP's face in West Bengal, will address a rally at Purulia on March 18, will again do the same thing  at Contain or Kathi on March 20 and at Bankura on March 21.The regions are going to poll in the first two phases on March 27 and April 1, which will elect altogether 60 representativesin the 294 house.
 
The PM had addressed a massive event on March 7 at the Brigade rally, the first in the state after the ECI announced 8-phased elections in the state.Union Home Minister Amit Shah will campaign in West Bengal on March 14, 15 ahead of first polling on March 27.
 
He will hold a roadshow in Kharagpur and will address two rallies in the state a day later. The rallies will be held in Jhargram and in Ranibandh in Bankura district.
 
Without CM face, onus on PM & HM
Mr Shah will return to the states holding election rallies on March 19, 26, and 27.According to party sources, without a chief ministerial face in the state, the BJP is largely dependent on the Prime Minister, Home Minister and party president JP Nadda for votes.
 
Meanwhile, it was only last week when Mr Modi had culminated his mega rally at the Brigade Ground here where he pushed 'Ashol Parivartan' and countered the Mamata Banerjee-led state Government through several Bengali jibes.
 
The rally had also seen the induction of actor Mithun Chakraborty into the saffron party.The BJP has already deputed 22 senior leader leaders to supervise around 100-odd assembly constituencies that can play a significant role in its victory.
 
West Bengal is set to witness an eight-phase Assembly election starting March 27 and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leading a vigorous campaign in the state to oust the ruling Trinamool Congress, which had secured consecutive electoral wins in 2011 and 2016 under its leader and TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee.(UNI)
