NCW launches Whatsapp number for women facing domestic in lockdown

New Delhi: The National Commission for Women (NCW) has launched a WhatsApp number - 7217735372  for women to report cases of domestic violence, which has seen a spurt during the lockdown period.

Announcing this, NCW tweeted that discussions were on to explore possibility of providing counselling through online and phone services during this period. Since counselling in cases of complaints received was also important, all State Commissions for Women (SCW) have been asked to nominate counsellors for activation of counselling soon.(UNI)
