NIA arrests three Falah-e-Insaniyat Foundation operatives in Delhi, seize 1.5 Cr

New Delhi:In a major operation carried out on Tuesday, the National Investigation Agency busted Falah-e-Insaniyat Foundation (FIF) terror funding module as it carried out searches at multiple places in Daryaganj, Nizamuddin and Kucha Ghasiram areas in Delhi, an official said here on Wednesday.

The central probe agency's move comes after the specific input that some Delhi-based individuals were receiving funds from FIF operatives based abroad and were using the same to further the terror activities.
 
NIA conducted searches on September 25 at the premises of Mohammad Salman at  Nizamuddin, Mohd Salim alias  Mama at  Daryaganj and  Rajaram and Company at Kucha Ghasiram in New Delhi area and seized Rs one crore and fifty six lakh cash, Rs 43,000 in Nepali currency, 14 mobiles phones, 5 pen drives and several incriminating documents.
 
Following the seizure of incriminating material, NIA has arrested three persons FIF operative Mohd. Salman,hawala conduit Mohd Salim alias  Mama and Hawala courier Sajjad Abdul Wani who is resident of  Srinagar.
 
Central investigation agency had registered a case on July 2 under various section of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act after the specific information against Falah-e-Insaniyat Foundation.
During NIA's  investigation,it emerged that one Mohammad Salman, a resident of  Nizamuddin, New Delhi, has been in regular touch with one Dubai-based Pakistani national, who in turn is connected with the Deputy Chief of Falah-e-Insaniyat Foundation, a front-end organisation of proscribed terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).
 
"The accused person has been receiving funds, being sent by FIF operators and his associates, through Hawala operators. Accused persons along with other persons in various countries including Pakistan, UAE  are sending money through Hawala to India to further their nefarious activities and create unrest in India and carry out the terrorist activities", the probing agency said.
 
Falah-e-Insaniyat Foundation is a Lahore, Pakistan based organization established by Jamat-ud-Dawa. It is a front-end organisation of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT), a terror organisation proscribed under UAPA.It was founded in 1990 by Hafiz Mohammad Saeed, who is designated as Global Terrorist by the USA.
 
 FIF is placed on the list of terrorist organisations as per entry 33 in the First Schedule to the UAPA read with Prevention and Suppression of Terrorism (Implementation of Security Council Resolutions) Order 2016. 
 
Falah-e-Insaniyat Foundation was also designated as a Terrorist entity by USA in 2010.
"Investigation is continuing to unearth the larger conspiracy, to collect evidence and to arrest the other accused persons", the official statement said.(UNI)
