New Delhi: One of the four death row convicts in the Nirbhaya gangrape and murder case, Vinay Sharma, was injured earlier this week after he hit himself against a wall in Tihar jail, police said on Thursday.
According to jail sources, the death row convict banged his head against the wall in his cell. However, the wardens intervened and stopped him from repeating it.The jail authorities took him to a hospital where he was given a first aid for minor injuries and discharged.
Vinay's counsel AP Singh claimed that the incident occurred on February 16. His mother informed the counsel about it the following day when her son refused to recognise her, Mr Singh said.(UNI)
