More than 100 Chinese troops transgressed into Indian territory on August 30 through the border point at Barahoti ridge in Uttarakhand and damaged some infrastructure, including a bridge, before retreating, the Economic Times reported on Tuesday, citing unidentified government and security officials.

Along with 55 horses, they entered more than 5 kilometres into the Indian territory by crossing the Tun Jun La in the area, the report said. The government is yet to give an official statement on the matter.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi as soon as the news came out. In a tweet, Rahul Gandhi called PM Modi’s “ghar me ghuske marenge” statement a “jumla” and said that the reality was exactly the opposite.
