Madurai: The police recovered a plastic ball, stuffed with chemical substance and meant for making fireworks, inside a famous Mosque at Kalavasal locality in the city, today. The ball was noticed after morning prayer, police said.

On a complaint from the Kazimar Ethka Mosque authorities, sleuths of Tamil Nadu Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) personnel rushed to the spot, seized the plastic ball stuffed with 100 gram fireworks chemical and defused it. Police suspect that some unidentified persons must have thrown the plastic ball to create scare. Karimedu police have registered a case and are investigating. (UNI)
