POCSO case slapped against 4 yr old boy for alleged molestation

New Delhi: Delhi police has filed an FIR in connection with the alleged sexual assault on a minor schoolgirl by her four-year-old classmate inside the premises of the school located in Dwarka area here.The police said they had registered a case under POCSO act, based on the complaint made by the girl's mother in which she stated that her daughter was allegedly sexually assaulted by a boy in her class.

The two children, who are kindergarten students of a private school in Dwarka, were referred for counseling, the police said on Thursday.The incident came to light after the girl complained of pain in her private parts to her mother after returning from school on November 17, and later when she was taken to the hospital, the doctors confirmed sexual assault.

Parents of the girl had alleged that the washroom and the classroom where the incident took place were left unattended by any concerned school staff.According to IPC, children below seven years of age are protected against prosecutions and accordingly the provisions to handle the matter are being examined as the matter is sensitive, the police said.(UNI)
