Bengaluru: In a joint operation by Southern Command military intelligence, city police have arrested a person for allegedly sharing security-related information with Pak-based ISI operatives.
A police officer said the police hunted down the suspect and arrested him on a tip-off from the military intelligence wing of the Southern Command.
The accused is alleged to have taken photos of vital installations and defence establishments and shared them with ISI operatives.
A case has been registered under the Official Secrets Act and other laws.
The accused has been identified as Jitender Singh, who is a resident of Barmer in Rajasthan. He was staying at Jolly Mohalla in Cottonpet area and working as a garment seller in the city.
He was in communication with a Pakistan-based ISI officer over WhatsApp messages, audio and video calls.
Singh was also in possession of a Captain's uniform with which he used to impersonate as an Army officer to carry out these tasks. (UNI)
