SBI employees contribute Rs 62.62 cr to PM CARES Fund on 66th foundation day

Kolkata:Continuing their support to the fight against COVID-19, around 2.50 lac employees of the country’s largest lender, State Bank of India (SBI), have donated a sum of Rs.62.62 Crore to the PM CARES Fund on the occasion of 66th Foundation Day of SBI.This is the second time that State Bank Employees have contributed to the PM CARES Fund. Last year also, they had contributed handsomely for the same cause.
Dinesh Khara, Chairman, SBI, said, “It is a matter of pride for State Bank of India that our employees have continued to offer banking services to our customers throughout the pandemic, putting service before self, in the true sense of the term. In addition, they have voluntarily come forward to contribute to the PM CARES Fund at a time when the Government is strengthening the healthcare system to tackle the pandemic.”
 
He added that as a responsible Corporate Citizen, SBI remains committed to support the Government in all its endeavours to address the challenges arising out of the pandemic
 
Bank Day: SBI celebrates with blood donation camp
 
State Bank of India celebrated its 66th Bank Day on July 1.On this occasion a Blood Donation Camp was organised in association with Department of Blood Transfusion Medicine, PGIMER, Chandigarh at SBI Local Head Office Chandigarh, to mark the “State Bank Day”.
 
On the occasion, Mr Anukool Bhatnagar, Chief General Manager, State Bank of India, Chandigarh Circle and Dr. Suchet Sachdeva, Associate Professor, Department of Blood Transfusion Medicine, PGIMER, encouraged the donors and thanked them for participating in this humanitarian cause.
 
A total of 110 units were donated by SBI Staff making this blood donation camp a huge success. The commitment of SBI in the service of Nation was reinforced by Blood Donation Camp organised on Bank Day for social service.
 
On the occasion of State Bank Day and Doctors Day, a Joint Tree Plantation was also done by Director PGIMER, Chandigarh Padma Shri Prof. Jagat Ram and SBI Chandigarh Circle CGM Sh. Anukool Bhatnagar at PGIMER Chandigarh in the morning. Dr. Jagat Ram appreciated the social work and long term association of PGIMER, Chandigarh and SBI.
 
SBI campaign “I am the I in SBI” was also launched by the Circle CGM about strengthening the bonds between the Bank and its staff and customers. The campaign instills a belief, an overwhelming feeling that the “I” in SBI is about me.
 
The Vice-President, SBI Ladies Club and other members presented the certificates and gifts to the blood donors and thanked them for donating blood.(UNI)
