Palakkad:A 71-year-old Septuagenarian security guard of a ladies hostel at nearby Kanjikode has been beaten to death by a robber early on Friday when the former prevented the latter from entering the premises.Police identified the vicim as P M John, a native of Kozhikode.
The security guard stopped the robber from entering the premises and following heated exchange of words (as it was revealed through a visual that the police got from the video footage of a CCTV camera in the hostel) the latter hit the former with an iron rod and repeated beating after John fell on the floor. The criminal later fled from the scene, police said,
Though he was taken to a nearby hospital, John succumbed to his injuries this morning. Police has registered a case and investigating.(UNI)
