Hyderabad: South Central Railway (SCR) places the utmost importance on the safety of passengers and the general public.
Trespassing onto railway tracks and engaging in unsafe practices, such as attempting to board or alight from moving trains, pose significant risks to life.
These actions not only endanger the safety of those involved but also disrupt the smooth operation of train services.
In light of this, SCR earnestly appeals to the public, including rail passengers, to refrain from such practices and cooperate with railways in ensuring safety and safeguarding lives, as stated in an SCR statement released on Tuesday.
It is important to note that trespassing on railway tracks is illegal under Section 147 of the Railways Act, 1989. Offenders may face imprisonment for up to six months, a fine of up to one thousand rupees, or both.
