Lucknow:Uttar Pradesh Congress unit is divided over the scrapping of Article 370 of the Constitution, as Aditi Singh, MLA from Rae Bareli, has supported the Union Government move. The MLA said that it was her personal view and has nothing to do with the party's policy.
Talking to reporters in Rae Bareli, she said, "I am in absolute support of the decision taken by the government. It will help in integrating J&K into the mainstream. It's a historic decision. It should not be politicised. As an MLA, in my personal capacity, I welcome this decision."
Earlier on Monday, she had tweeted to extend her support to the governrment on the scrapping of Article 370.
When an user asked," you are from Congress", she replied," I am a Hindustani."
Aditi Singh, daughter of five times MLA Akhilesh Singh, is a first time MLA from Rae Bareli. She is also close to Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.(UNI)
