UP police personnel dies after being hit by jeep during checking

Kaushambi (UP): A 28-year-old police personnel was killed after being hit by a jeep during vehicle checking in Sarai Akil area of Kaushambi district in Uttar Pradesh on Monday, a police officer said here.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Brajesh Kumar Srivastava said that Avnish Dubey, who was posted at Tilhapur police outpost, was checking vehicles at Patel chowk in the morning.

"During this a jeep hit him. Avnish, who sustained serious injuries, died during treatment," he said.

He said that Dubey was a resident of Ballia district. "The police are tracing the jeep and its driver. A case has been registered in this regard," he said.
