Uttar Pradesh: Boiler explodes at IFFCO plant, one dead, 6 others injured

Prayagraj: An employee died while six others sustained injuries when a boiler burst at the Phoolpur factory of the Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) here on Tuesday.

Police sources said that the accident happened during the day when the afternoon shift was working in the factory. Meanwhile, a boiler burst, leading to the death of employee Pradeep Yadav, a resident of Pali.

Six people were injured in the accident and all of them have been admitted to a hospital. Police and administrative officials also reached the spot after getting information. In view of security, a large police force has been deployed on the spot.

Incidentally, a big accident had earlier taken place at the IFFCO plant late at night on December 22, 2020. 14 people, including two officials, had been affected due to the leakage of ammonia gas from the urea unit of the plant.

All of them had been taken to the hospital where Assistant Manager VP Singh and Deputy Manager Abhaynandan had died while 12 others had been treated. (UNI)
