Uttar Pradesh: Wedding procession chariot comes in contact with high-tension line, labourers carrying flower pots dies on spot, groom faints

Azamgarh (UP): Two persons were electrocuted after they came in contact with a high-tension power line in the Bardah area of Azamgarh district here in Uttar Pradesh, a police officer said here on Sunday.

Superintendent of Police (Rural) Chirag Jain said that the incident took place late on Saturday night when the chariot of a wedding procession came in contact with the high-tension line in Bhaiskur village under Bardah police station.

He said that two labourers identified Golu (17) and Mangru (25), both residents of Jawahar Nagar, who were carrying the flower pots, died on the spot, and the groom fainted.

"The wedding procession from Kusmiliya village under the Mehnagar police station area had come to the house of Lal Chand Saroj," he said.
