A day after talking to Basirhat BJP candidate, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a telephone conversation with Krishnanagar candidate ‘Rajmata’ Amrita Roy.

PM Modi asked Roy about her electoral campaign and said that he is looking for legal options to return the Rs 3,000 crore confiscated by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in West Bengal to the poor.

“In Bengal, the ED has attached Rs 3,000 crore from the corrupt. It belongs to the poor…some paid to become a teacher…some to be a clerk…Based on the legal advice, once we form the new government, I will return the Rs 3,000 crore paid as bribe by the poor," said Modi.

He also asked Roy to spread this word to the public.

Amrita Roy, the BJP candidate from Krishnanagar, will fight Trinamool Congress’s (TMC) Mahua Moitra.
