Srinagar: A yellowish and dusty snowfall was witnessed in some parts of north Kashmir during the intervening night of Thursday and Friday triggering concern among the people, officials said.
Meteorological Centre Srinagar said last night’s yellowish and dusty snowfall over some parts of the north was dust carried out by winds from central parts of Pakistan and southern Afghanistan that travelled northeastwards and reached north Kashmir during midnight.
The system was monitored by the 2nd Generation Weather Satellite (Meteosat-9) of EUMETSAT (European Operational Satellite Agency) confirms that the dust started around 7 pm IST and travelled to north Kashmir around 02.00hours Am(IST), the MeT office said. (UNI)
