3 poachers held for smuggling body parts of deer in Telangana

Hyderabad: The city police on Tuesday arrested three persons for hunting wild animals. Police rescused one Deer ( Black Buck), Butchered deer parts (Head and Legs), one car and three cell phones from their possession.On credible information, the South Zone Task Force Team arrested Chavan Shankar Baba (36) of Chata village, Kubeer Mandal Nirmal District, Mohd Zubair (26) of Nizamabad and Mohd Salmanuddin (27) of Nizamabad district for the offence.Imran of Bodhan is absconding in the case, a police release here said.
 
The prime accused Shankar Baba was a farmer. He turned his attention towards hunting Deer and other wild animals in order to sell and earn easy money. Meanwhile he came into contact with a known person Mohd Zubair, resident of Nizamabad who is mediating in sale and purchase of deer meat and live deers.
 
Subsequently, Mohd Zubair came into contact with his friend Salmanuddin and shared about his friend’s interest in eating deer meat.
 
As per the requirement of Salmanuddin, Mohd Zubair contacted Shankar Baba to arrange deer.
Accordingly, Shakar Baba hunted two deers and kept in his possession and informed Mohd Zubair. Subsequently Zubair informed Salmanuddin about the availability of deers.
 
After receiving the information, Salmanuddin booked a rental car and went to Nizamabad. Where he met Zubair and Shanker Babu and purchased live Deer for an amount of Rs 15,000 and butchered parts of the deer with Rs 7000. Some of the meat was sold to one Imran, a native of Bodhan and reached to Asif Nagar here for further disposal. Mentime Police intervened and arrested them.
 
On preliminary enquiry, it came to notice that, Shanker Baba and MohdZubair committed the same offence more than 10 times.The apprehended accused and seized objects handed over to Forest Department Police for taking further action, the release added.(UNI)
