Hyderabad: Five residents of Sircilla, Telangana, who were serving a jail term in Dubai for the murder of Nepalese watchman Bahadur Singh, have been released.

Initially sentenced to ten years, the Dubai court later extended their imprisonment to 25 years. Having already served 18 years, they are now required to serve an additional seven years.

BRS Working President K T Rama Rao (KTR) took the initiative in this matter, offering a compensation of Rs 15 lakh to Bahadur Singh's family and presenting an apology letter.

Despite the victim's family offering amnesty, the Dubai court, following changed rules, initially declined their release.

Subsequently, Telangana lawyers sought their release once again, citing health reasons. The court, considering their health conditions, granted an early release of seven years.
