60 yr old Hubby of maid makes 8 std school girl pregnant, arrested

Jeypore: The Police have arrested the husband of a state run residential school meant for SC-ST students in Koraput district on the charges of raping and making a Class eight girl student pregnant.

Jeypore SDPO Varun Guntupalli said, Rajendra Rath (60) was arrested yesterday and the accused has confessed to the crime during interrogation. The accused has been forwarded to the court.

Police sources said, Rajendra who was residing in the official quarter allocated to his wife in the school campus used to call the girl to the official quarter on some pretext or the other and rape her.

The girl was found three months pregnant during a recent health check up, District Child Protection Officer, Koraput, Rajshree Das said.

A case was registered at Jeypore Sadar police station after the DCPO reported the matter to the police. The accused, a sixty-year-old had threatened the victim minor girl not to disclose the matter to any one.

Official sources said, disciplinary action will be initiated against the headmistress for keeping her  husband inside the Sevashram hostel premises against the prescribed rules.

Meanwhile, the family members of the minor girl demanded stringent action against the headmistress and her husband in connection with the case.(UNI)
