7 arrested for gang rape of minor in Dumka

Dumka: Police have arrested seven accused who was wanted in connection with the gang rape of a minor.

Dumka SP YS Ramesh said that a minor girl was gang-raped near Karudih Mode under Gopikandar Police Station area of this district on March 25 while she was returning to her home. The victim later lodged a fir in this connection against a named and 10 unnamed accused. 

An SIT under SDPO Sadar Police Station and comprising teams from Shikaripada, Gopikandar and Kathikund conducted an investigation and arrested the seven accused in the case. The SP said that in the course of questioning all of them have confessed to their crime.(UNI)
