Lucknow: After the official account of the Chief Minister Office, the twitter accounts of the Uttar Pradesh government and Info Uttar Pradesh Fact Check were briefly hacked on Monday.
The hackers changed the display picture and posted around two dozen tweets.
"In celebration for the reveal of the Beanz Official Collection, we have opened up an airdrop to all active NFT traders in the community for the next 24 hours!," read one of the tweets.
It may be noted that while the UP government's twitter handle has 2.7 million followers, Info UP fact check is followed by 24.9K followers.
The officials said that the UP government's account was restored by the technical experts.
It may be noted that on Friday UP government and security agencies went into high alert late at night when the twitter account of the CMO was hacked.
The hackers posted 30 promotional tweets tagging hundreds of users from the CMO's official Twitter handle. The account was hacked at around 12.43 am. However, the account was restored at around 1.17 am.
Later an FIR was lodged at the cyber police station and the investigation is being monitored by the DGP office. (UNI)
