Lucknow: With assembly polls round the corner in Uttar Pradesh, the BJP government has now focussed on all the issues including the maintenance of the memorials and monuments in the name of icons in the state.
Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday has directed the officials for good maintenance of monuments, memorial of icons established in different districts.
"A state-wide campaign should be launched for the cleanliness and other arrangements related to the management of these inspirational places," CM said.
In the past, BSP had charged that the maintenance of the memorials and monuments in the name of dalit icons, constructed during the Mayawati regime, were ignored by the present government.
There are several statues and monuments of dalit icons in Lucknow and Noida. (UNI)
