Aizawl police arrest 3 for livestreaming sexual acts and charging fees from users

Aizawl: Mizoram police have arrested three people, including two women, for running porn shows through the social media platform Instagram.

The accused allegedly charged fees from the users for showing "live sex."

The police arrested the main culprit, who engaged in the sex act with another man, and her female accomplice on Saturday.

The arrest came a day after the Mizoram State Commission for Women registered a suo moto case and instructed the cyber police to launch an investigation into the matter.

On the same day, the police also arrested another person, a man, who was also allegedly involved in the pornographic show.

They were presented before the district court and sent to judicial custody.

According to the police, the woman, who goes by the name Zo Lanu in her Instagram account, preluded her actions by advertising on the platform, implying that she would be monetizing her activities. Subsequently, she proceeded to conduct live sexual acts via her social media account, accessible to those who had remunerated for entry.
