Chandigarh: Amid rumors that fugitive Khalistan sympathiser Amritpal Singh might surrender, a video message of his surfaced on Wednesday, in which he has given a call for 'Sarbat Khalsa' on Baisakhi.
In the video he has also slammed police for arresting youths during crackdown against him. He has said that if the Govt. wanted to arrest him, police could have come to his home and he would have given in. In the same breath, he claimed he was fine and due to the blessings of Waheguru, he was able to dodge the police.
Appealing to Akal Takht Jathedar to lead the Sarbat Khalsa event, he said all the Sikh organisations from the country and abroad should discuss issues related to the community.
Punjab police had launched a massive operation to nab Amritpal Singh on March 18, however, he escaped the police dragnet.
Meanwhile, Amritsar police on late Tuesday issued an "Hue and Cry Notice" declaring that Amritpal was wanted by Amritsar (Rural) police and any person having any knowledge/information about the whereabouts of the said accused may inform police. (UNI)
